Vladimir Lalić
Statement
Vladimir Lalić works across disciplines: he uses drawing, collage and sculpture, large-scale multi-media installations, as well as his own voice as a performer, performing his musical compositions\improvisations.
His main interest is the human and animal corpus, mythologizing them into absurd characters through a lens of parodic evolutionary possibilities. He is taking the role of ventriloquist of inner emotions.
The clash of different materials he uses in his sculptural work (ceramics, metal, wood, plastic, resin, plexiglass, bones, fat) reinforces the contrast of what is considered natural and real versus artificial and fake.
The works provoke curiosity fused with disruption; rather unconventional answers to the questions of what it means to be alive - to be a part of a collective or an individual.
