Toby Wilson

Statement

Toby Wilson is a fourth year MFA student whose work explores layered fictionalities and performativity within a digitally mediated and economically/emotionally/ontologically precaritised landscape. Through video works and installations that blur reality with fantasy and absurdity with tragedy, he offers weird and anarchic speculations on the interplay of work, regionality, roleplay, and utopianism, and how - in this fractal and fractured context - escape becomes necessary, whether through emancipative change or gamified dissociation.
