Jeongyeon Kim

Statement

My work explores family relationships and domestic space through sculpture, moving images, and installations. The narrative of my work is derived from the archetype of the heteronormative nuclear family in East Asian households and my autobiographical experiences. I am interested in the interpretation of intimacy, seclusion, and the emotional and psychological layers embedded in our living spaces.

This work searches for the emotional and historical layers of the physical environments we inhabit. It also examines symbolic and literal boundaries through wallpaper, doors, and other domestic elements.
