Emilia Gonzalez Salgado

Statement

I work to understand identity, as body and place within various dissonant spaces. These explorations of embodiment and dislocation situate the weight of the work upon the sensory experience and memory of the audience. Through the use of gesture and scent, I make sculptures that need you to lean, touch and ingest, that give way for you to activate and occupy them.
