Statement

Work is formed from impromptu ideas that are acted upon through a love of a ‘lets see what happens’ process that allows for slippage and chance to play a part: Like life, you may set off in one direction but it sometimes takes a detour to unexpected places. Repetition features again and again, through series, layers, multiple exposures and text, revealing complexities of our outward facing personas, relationships, humour, grief, mental and physical health.

I play with documentary, archive, observations of time and place and our interactions within them; finding the small moments that speak to the bigger picture, highlighting the distance in between as a way to allow the viewer to drift and reflect on their own experience. This is mediated via installation, video, text, audio works, printmaking and lots of analogue and digital photography.
